Ho, Ho, Ho! Christmas is coming!
Everyone loves gifts, so whether you’re in search of the best gift for your beloved cyclist, or you want to treat yourself, in this guide we present (pun intended) our Christmas picks.
Establish your budget.
Cycling products come in all shapes and sizes at different prices, so it’s important to set a budget and know what you’ll get for the money. On our Christmas page, you can look through all of our gift picks for under €50 and €100.
Who’s the gift for?
Is it for a hardcore cycling enthusiast that sleeps in his bib shorts, or someone that has recently got into cycling? Answering these questions will filter out some gifts that may not be that useful for someone. If someone rides a road bike, we don’t recommend getting them lock-on grips, and vice versa, if someone rides a mountain bike, getting them a mini road pump wouldn’t go down too well.
Practical solutions for all cyclists
Keeping it practical is the simplest way to ensure that the receiver will actually use our gift. We all know that some of them land straight in the drawer, but with these high-quality products that are actually very useful, they will bring joy to the cyclist we care for. For winter time, that would be everything that keeps them warm:
Gifts that are safe bets
If you don’t really know what to get for someone for Christmas, some gifts are safe to get for anyone. A lovely pair of cycling socks is one of them. They are relatively inexpensive and even if someone has a whole drawer full of socks, a new pair would be appreciated.
Another viable option is nutrition. It’s essential to eat whilst cycling, so a box of energy bars or gels is also a great option for a gift. High5 and Clif energy food boxes are also beautifully packed, so you won’t have to worry about looks.
Gifts for commuters
For someone that commutes daily on their bike, it’s a great option to get them something useful and hard-wearing like a high-quality set of lights (Click here to read our guide on bicycle lights), waterproof gloves and socks, a multi-tool and a mini pump for the unexpected, on-the-go repairs.
Gifts for hardcore riders
For those types of riders, we recommend getting them something that will bring value to their cycling-centred lifestyles. A set of cleaning products and lubes is always an attractive and safe option, as they go through these consumables quickly. For someone that tracks their performance, a heart rate monitor could be a great addition. For a person that rides, no matter the weather, a reflective waterproof jacket and overshoes are also a reasonable option. Don’t forget socks and gloves, as these are reasonable options that can be thought of as fashionable accessories.
The Ultimate Christmas Present
Make the most out of your time on the bike. By getting a detailed bike fit you will maximise comfort, minimise pain and injury risk and increase power and speed. – Gary Byrne
The cheapest bike that fits properly will be more comfortable and ride better than a very expensive bicycle, that is poorly fitted to the rider. That’s why there are people such as Gary Byrne. He will make sure that your new bike will fit you perfectly, or make changes to your existing bike, if possible. A bike fit is one of the best value investments to your cycling. A properly-fitted bike will prevent you from injuries related to a bad position. It will reduce stress at the contact points, make you more efficient whilst pedalling and last, but not least, make your bike fit you like a glove.

Off-bike protection
Riding, especially in autumn and winter, can get messy, so making sure that you can safely transport and store your bike is important. For these situations, we recommend getting a bike cover. Velosock is a brand that specifically makes these products, and they work really well if you want to protect anything that might come in touch with your bike.
These are covers made with very stretchy material that covers your wheels (some models provide full-bike coverage), so you won’t scratch the inside of your car or smudge the walls and furniture. Velosocks are machine-washable, so if they get too dirty, you can wash them up and make them look brand-new.
If you still don’t know
If you still are confused about what to get someone for Christmas, the safest way is to get them a gift card, so they will be able to choose for themselves. At Cycle Superstore, you can choose from €20 cards all the way to €500. Click here to buy the gift card of your choice.
